I will start this serie on competitive intelligence by a presentation explaining NDS competitive intelligence organization.
Competitive intelligence is the process of discovering, analyzing and using intelligence to become more competitive.
First thing to notice, NDS has a dedicated department for competitive intelligence and market analysis.The objectives of this department is to understand the market and the competition in detail(slide 9).
Slide 21 shows that NDS is analyzing not only its competitors’ profiles in detail but also they are doing competition scenarios and wins analysis.
It is particularly interesting to see that more than 50% of the information is coming from customer-facing personnel (slide 20).
The department’s customers are Sales teams worldwide, product marketing managers and management. The information is provided via several dedicated tools as well as direct support (slide 26).
